AI Sebenarnya Tambah Kerja, Bukan Kurangkan?

Ini adalah penulisan balas kepada Harvard Business Publishing.

I felt compelled to write this today sebab baru je baca satu article interesting from Harvard Business Review (Feb 2026) titled “AI Doesn’t Reduce Work — It Intensifies It.”

    https://hbr.org/2026/02/ai-doesnt-reduce-work-it-intensifies-it

The findings are quite provocative but honestly, tak terkejut sangat.

Saya ringkaskan apa yang tertulis dalam artikel tu :

Study ni highlight satu fenomena di mana bila non-IT staff start guna Generative AI untuk documentation or daily tasks, workload diorang bukan berkurang, tapi makin bertambah.

    Kenapa?

    Sebab wujudnya “Shadow Work.”

Instead of drafting from scratch, employees now spend berjam-jam untuk verify, debug, and “fix” output AI tu. Mental load dah shift dari “creating” kepada “supervising.”

Rasa macam multitasking non-stop sebab kena manage AI punya output while doing other things. They call this “The Paradox of Efficiency”—bila tool tu senang sangat nak guna, kita tend to take on more jobs than we can handle.

Ini counter perspektif saya sebagai seorang trainer AI, turun padang dan mendengar masalah yang pengguna AI hadapi, dan sama2 kami solve dalam training AI tu. Baik Kementerian atau Swasta, sama..

While I respect the data, I believe the issue isn’t the AI itself—it’s the workflow maturity.

Bila kita kata AI “tambah kerja,” it usually happens sebab kita treat AI macam “Magic Button” instead of a “Junior Intern.”

    1.Skill Gap:
Masalah “verification” tu jadi burden sebab user takde proper prompting skills or framework. If you master the context setting, the output requires less fixing.

    2.Transition Phase:
Kita tengah dalam fasa “Jevons Paradox.” Bila efficiency naik, demand untuk quality pun naik. Yes, kerja nampak macam bertambah, but actually, the value of the work yang kita produce tu dah level lain.

    3.Human-in-the-Loop:
The goal shouldn’t be to automate everything blindly. The secret is to shift mindset dari “Doer” kepada “Editor-in-Chief.” Once you get used to this supervising role, that “intensity” akan bertukar jadi productivity.

    1. Training!
Sebab itulah perlu kepada training. Jangan biarkan staff explore tools AI sendiri. Wasting their working time. Send them for proper training, and get the result faster.

So, jangan salahkan tool kalau kita belum master “The Art of AI Delegation.” Work smart, not just hard with AI.

Apa pandangan korang? Adakah AI membebankan atau memudahkan kerja harian anda? Let’s discuss. 👇
